Thumbs Up For New Development

Councillor Barry Thomas, Chair of Powys County Council, officially opened the Association’s latest completed development at Bwlch-Yr-Iaen, Dolfach, on 7th December.

The site was purchased from Powys County Council in 2009 by the Association which has invested more than £1.4 million in to the development, made up of £800,000 Association funding and a Welsh Assembly Grant of £575,774.

The development of six three bedroomed houses and one two bedroomed bungalow was built to meet the Welsh Government’s code for sustainable homes and are equipped with energy saving technology including gas boilers and solar hot water as well as, water butts and recycling facilities.

The opening was also attended by local Community Councillors, staff from Powys County Council, tenants, Board Members and staff of Mid Wales Housing.
